Our top five new London property developments

March 26, 2019

Big isn’t always beautiful in property development and at Chalk we’ve taken a quick look at the developments that are bringing something else to the property market.

Caley House, Wimbledon Village

Developed by West Eleven, the Caley House project consists of five apartments and four mews houses situated in the heart of one of London’s best-known villages. The scheme was designed by award-winning Jo Cowen Architects in line with the style and traditional character of the existing building, which was originally built in the early 20th century. The stunning apartments intelligently combine the building’s history with an individual modern design, while the new build Mews Houses are a contemporary addition to the historical building.

The View, Battersea Park

Designed to capture the amazing views across Battersea Park and Chelsea, The View by West Eleven is an impressive 15 storey development of 28 luxury apartments and three luxurious penthouses. Key to the regeneration of Battersea Park, the building combines intricately designed interiors and a stylish exterior façade, designed again by Jo Cowen Architects. The interiors cleverly blend teal, natural oak floors, bronze and a touch of brass to pay homage to the Battersea Park landscape.

Jubilee Street, Stepney

Situated next to the iconic Grade II listed The George Tavern, the proposed Jubilee Street scheme encompasses a new build six storey development of 37 homes, along with the refurbishment of quality office space for local businesses. Working with IPE Developments, the designers clearly recognise the heritage of the local area and proposed an exterior to complement the historic character of the development’s surroundings, while also offering a modern and contemporary interior.

Thames Street, Greenwich

A short walk along the river from the historic Greenwich town is the picturesque location of the Thames Street development by L&Q. The collection of 26 contemporary riverside apartments feature large glass windows to maximise the natural light and private balconies to enjoy the stunning scenery. The impressive building features nine storeys facing the Thames and six at the rear, and incorporates high-end bespoke modern interior specifications, including smart and stylish kitchens and bathrooms for both comfort and style.

Abbeville Place, Clapham

Designed with young professionals in mind, Abbeville Place is surrounded by parkland and tree-lined streets to create an urban village atmosphere with great commuter links to the city. The collection of 41 apartments has been designed by award-winning developers, Inspired Homes, widely regarded as a leading developer of micro-apartments. The ethos is to provide high quality homes, designed for modern living at affordable prices. The high spec development encapsulates modern interior design features, accompanied by British designed smart home technology.
